At Gorse Hill, we're committed to promoting environmental sustainability and preserving wildlife habitats. Therefore, we proudly support the WWF, a renowned organization dedicated to protecting nature and wildlife worldwide.

WHO IS WWF AND WHAT IS THEIR MISSION?

In 1961, a remarkable group of scientists, conservationists, and businessmen came together to establish WWF-UK. Originally named the World Wildlife Fund its mission was clear: protect wildlife and their habitats so people can live in harmony with nature.

Over time as the scope of their work expanded to include broader conservation efforts, the organization evolved and changed it's name to World Wide Fund for Nature in 1986. Since July 2000, WWF has been known simply by its iconic initials.

Today, WWF-UK continues its vital work, focusing on conserving endangered species, safeguarding precious habitats, and addressing pressing environmental challenges like climate change. With a rich history and a commitment to protecting the planet's biodiversity, WWF remains at the forefront of global conservation efforts.

WHAT DOES WWF DO?

WWF works on various fronts to achieve its mission. They conduct scientific research, engage with local communities, advocate for policy changes, and implement conservation projects worldwide. Their focus areas include protecting endangered species, conserving habitats, combating climate change, and promoting sustainable use of resources.

HOW DOES WWF OPERATE?

At the heart of WWF's impactful endeavours lies a global network of passionate professionals spanning more than 100 countries. This dedicated team comprises leading experts in conservation science, policy, economics, law, and communication. Together, they collaborate with partners at every level to drive WWF's mission forward.

Building robust partnerships is fundamental to WWF's approach. Recognising that no single organization can tackle the complex challenges facing our planet alone, WWF aims to build strong partnerships from local communities to governments.
