Absolutely. We highly encourage you to visit Gorse Hill before you book.
Booking & Rooms
Are all the bedrooms in the main house?
No, our 67 bedrooms are set across three areas: the main Mansion House, the Courtyard and the Lodge. If you would prefer a room in a particular spot, just let us know when you book on +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Are the bedrooms air-conditioned?
None of our bedrooms have air conditioning. If this is important to you, please get in touch before you book and we will be happy to talk it through. Call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is not automatically included in all our room rates, as we offer Room Only rates as well as Bed & Breakfast rates.
How much does it cost to bring a dog?
£20 per dog, per night. Please see our dog policy page for more information.
Hotel Facilities
Is there a gym guests can use during their stay?
Yes. There is a fitness suite that guests can use, over in the Courtyard, just across from the main mansion house. It has cardio machines, some resistance machines and free weights. To check access for your stay, call us on +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Do you have a swimming pool or spa?
No, we do not have a pool or spa. We do have a fitness suite in the Courtyard with cardio machines and weights, and our terrace and gardens are a lovely place to relax. For more on what we offer, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Is there a terrace or garden where guests can sit outside?
Yes. We have a terrace looking out over the gardens, plus landscaped grounds to stroll around. It is a lovely spot for a drink or a quiet sit down. To plan a visit, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Do you have electric vehicle charging?
Yes, Gorse Hill has 2 electric vehicle charging points outside the courtyard.
Location & Travel
How do I get to London from the hotel?
London is easy to reach. Woking station is about a 5-minute drive away, and trains to London Waterloo take around 25 minutes. The hotel also sits between the M25 and M3 for drivers. To book a stay, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
How far is the hotel from Ascot Racecourse?
Ascot Racecourse is approximately 11.5 miles, or around a 25-minute drive, from Gorse Hill.
Do I need to register my car to park?
If you are staying overnight at Gorse Hill, then yes, you will need to provide your vehicle registration number. Day visits do not require a registration number.
Is Gorse Hill a good base for RHS Garden Wisley and other attractions?
Yes, we are well placed for days out. RHS Garden Wisley, Mercedes-Benz World and Brooklands Museum are all a short drive away, and historic Guildford is about 15 minutes by car. To book a stay, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Is the hotel a good place to stay for a golf break?
Yes, we are a great base for golf. Woking Golf Club is right on our doorstep, with other courses nearby. We have free parking and 67 bedrooms for a relaxed golf trip. To book, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Weddings
Can the whole venue be booked for exclusive use?
Yes, you can book Gorse Hill for exclusive use. This gives you private use of the venue, including all event spaces and all 67 bedrooms. It is a popular choice for weddings and larger celebrations. For a tailored quote, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Can couples get married outdoors in the grounds?
Yes. Couples can marry outdoors on our lawns, for up to 150 guests. We are fully licensed for ceremonies, and we have indoor spaces too in case the weather turns. To check dates or arrange a visit, call +44 (0) 1483 778 204.
Do I have to use certain caterers?
No, you are not restricted to specific caterers. However, we do ask that you provide their contact details, so the correct documentation can be arranged with us before your event date.
When can I hire the space?
The Garden Suite is available for dry hire on Sundays only, from 11am until 11pm. We may be able to offer alternative dates, subject to availability.
Do you have a dry hire package?
We have one dry hire package, with the option to hold your civil ceremony on site for an additional fee. You can also use the Garden Suite bar, though there is a fee for this to be emptied and made available for use.
Do you take a damage deposit?
Yes. Gorse Hill takes a £3,000 security deposit to cover any damage caused to the property by your guests. It is fully refundable once the duty manager has completed a full inspection of the venue at the end of the event.
Can guests park onsite?
Yes, we have 109 complimentary parking spaces for your guests to use. Please note these are on a first come, first served basis.
Do you have guest bedrooms?
Yes, we have 67 bedrooms on site. We offer a preferential rate for your guests attending, for the night of the event only.
Can I have fireworks?
Unfortunately, we do not allow fireworks on site.
Events & Dining
Can we customise the menu?
Absolutely. Our chefs are glad to work with you to create a bespoke menu that suits your tastes, your event style and any specific dietary requirements.
How far in advance should we book?
We suggest booking 4 to 8 weeks ahead, particularly for weekend dates or peak seasons, to secure your preferred room and menu choices.
