Tulba
Before the wedding day itself the tulba (also called tolbe) takes place. This important pre-wedding ritual marks the day where the groom asks the bride's parents for her hand in marriage. After permission is given everyone will say a prayer “Surah Al-Fatiha” from the Holy Quarn. Following this both families celebrate by drinking tea, coffee or cordial and eating sweet treats.
